We are seeking an experienced Guidance and Control (GNC) Engineer who will join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting missile system and fire control system design, development, integration, and test. What You Will Be Doing GNC Engineer tasks include: Design, develop, and deploy embedded algorithms that perform inertial tracking, inertial navigation and/or sensor fusion Develop, verify, and validate both complex models and simulations that utilize match filters, convolutional neural networks, and other such techniques to detect targets of interest. Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities that support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities Opportunities will exist to join small teams of engineers and algorithm developers on a variety of different programs that are in various stages of product development. Basic Qualifications:
BS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar STEM degree and 3+ years of relevant experience. Secret Clearance is need to start, therefore you must be a US Citizen. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment Experience leading technical multi-disciplinary teams and having been involved in briefing and interfacing with customers Prior experience with Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3)/IAMD modeling. Proficiency in SW development environments like Git using programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C++, FORTRAN, or Ada. Experience with different simulation and test environments (6-DOF IFS, HWIL, flight test experience, etc.) Solid foundation in linear algebra, dynamics, coordinate frame transformations, and state estimation techniques
Desired Skills:
Experience using a Linux-based operating system Familiarity with some, or all, of the following: linear algebra, probability and statistics, state dynamic equations, Kalman filter applications, kinematics and rotating coordinate systems Experience integrating and testing hardware and software in Hardware In-the-Loop (HWIL) Prior experience supporting flight tests Ability to occasionally travel for up to two weeks at a time to White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico to support flight tests. Experience in air and missile defense, development, and testing

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
