Job Description

At Omni Aircraft Maintenance, we built our reputation one aircraft at a time. We are a FAA Part 145 Repair Station with deep expertise across the business jet fleet — and we are growing. Our avionics team is at the center of that growth: the skilled hands behind every installation, modification, and panel rework that leaves our floor. If precision wiring, systems troubleshooting, and exacting avionics work is your craft, we want to talk. What You Can Expect As our Avionics Install Technician at McKinney National Airport (TKI), you will perform avionics installations on a variety of business jet airframes — routing and fabricating wire harnesses, installing cannon plugs and avionics components, and executing complete panel reworks. You will work from wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering orders as part of a focused shop team where the standard is safe, compliant, and done right the first time. Your Role Duties shall include but are not limited to the following: Perform general avionics support items on aircraft. This shall include, but not be limited to, removal and installation of panels, components, and interiors, as well as repair work on avionics installations. Fabricate, stamp, bundle, and install connectors and wire harnesses in aircraft per approved data and applicable wiring diagrams. Removal of old wiring and installation of new wire bundles in aircraft. Troubleshooting and evaluation of avionics systems on the aircraft when designated, including Nav, Comm, GPS, transponders, autopilots, EFIS, and audio systems. Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components when designated. Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment, and tooling to support operations. Accurately document all work performed in accordance with Omni's Repair Station Manual and Quality Department requirements. Qualifications Experience & Training 1+ years of experience in aircraft avionics installation and maintenance preferred. Avionics factory training, electronics coursework, or equivalent hands-on experience in lieu of formal education. A&P certificate preferred but not required. Technical Knowledge Solid working knowledge of FAA regulations, Part 43, and Part 145 repair station procedures. Strong understanding of aircraft airframe and electronics systems, with experience across multiple business jet airframes. Ability to read, interpret, and perform installations in accordance with STC data, approved engineering drawings, and installation instructions. Identify and differentiate between major and minor alterations in accordance with FAA regulations, ensuring proper documentation and approval pathways are followed. Coordinate and communicate effectively with engineering teams to ensure installations meet all technical, regulatory, and certification requirements. Demonstrated familiarity with major avionics manufacturers and systems, including cockpit avionics, cabin Wi-Fi/connectivity systems, CMS (Cabin Management Systems), audio, and lighting systems. Work Standards Self-motivated with exceptional attention to detail; able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced shop environment. Must be at least 18 years of age, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, and possess a valid U.S. driver's license. Must be able to pass background check, criminal history review, MVR, and drug screen. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Routine walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, and working in confined spaces in and around aircraft. Repetitive physical motion with arms and hands (crimping, routing, soldering); standing and working for extended periods. Ability to work in all weather conditions, including the variable temperature environment of a hangar and flight line. Travel required, up to 25% - 50%. Benefits Competitive pay commensurate with experience Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off (PTO) 401(k) with company match Company-paid life insurance Opportunity for flexible scheduling
