Job Description

Job Description Join Pratt & Whitney at our Columbus Engine Center, where precision meets purpose. As a Mechanic, you'll play a critical role in the overhaul, repair, and assembly of advanced jet engines that power commercial and military aircraft around the world. Working in a hands-on, team-driven environment, you'll apply your mechanical expertise to ensure engines are restored to peak performance, safety, and reliability. This is a 1st Shift position: Monday - Thursday 5:00 am - 3:30 pm.
What You Will Do:
Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data. Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble/disassembly and test a jet engine. Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructions, comply with required self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards. Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.
Qualifications You Must Have:
High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. 1+ years' experience in a mechanic role or appropriate technical training.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Aviation engine overhaul and repair experience. Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or Powerplant (P) Certificate. Hands-on experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Disassembly, Inspection, Assembly, or Turbine Engine Test Operations. Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma. Experience using Microsoft Office applications and SAP.
