About ARES Corporation ARES Corporation is an employee-owned aerospace and engineering services company supporting critical national programs across NASA and the Department of Defense. ARES delivers mission-critical engineering, operations, range support, and technical services supporting aerospace and national security missions. ARES supports NASA Wallops Flight Facility through the Wallops Range Contract, providing radar, telemetry, communications, launch operations, and engineering support services.
Position Overview:
ARES is seeking a Junior Radar Technician to support Mobile Radar operations, maintenance, deployment, and mission support activities. The selected candidate will assist with operation and maintenance of radar systems supporting launch and tracking operations at Wallops and remote mission sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Support operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mobile radar systems and associated RF equipment. Assistwith radar site setup and teardown operations at remote mission locations. Troubleshoot analog, digital, and RF electronic systems to thecomponentlevel. Interpret electrical diagrams, functional block diagrams, and schematics. Utilize electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, power meters, and signal generators. Maintain operational logs and preventative maintenance schedules. Support mission operations under supervision of senior radar technicians. Follow company and NASA operational, safety, and quality procedures. Support physical installation and maintenance activities including climbing ladders and towers and working in confined spaces.
Required Qualifications:
Two years of technical education or equivalent military technical training.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience supporting mobile radar systems preferred. Knowledge of digital, analog, and RF electronic fundamentals. Ability to troubleshoot electronic systems to thecomponentlevel. Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and perform physically demanding field activities. Ability to obtain andmaintaina Secret Clearance. Valid U.S. passport may berequired. Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 40% of the year.
Work Environment:
Safety and quality awareness and compliance are required. Shift work may be required. Assignments may change or vary based on mission requirements.
