Job description At Simmonds Precision Products Inc., we design, manufacture, and support precision aerospace components and systems that serve both commercial and military aviation customers worldwide. The FAA Repair Station Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and airworthiness of aircraft components through inspection, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, and testing activities performed in accordance with FAA regulations, company procedures, and approved technical data. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement within an FAA-regulated repair station environment. What You Will Do Perform inspection, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, modification, and testing of aircraft components and systems. Follow FAA regulations, Repair Station Manual requirements, approved technical data, and manufacturer maintenance instructions. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and avionics-related discrepancies to the component level. Complete maintenance documentation, work orders, inspection reports, and return-to-service records accurately and in a timely manner. Utilize precision measuring instruments, hand tools, and specialized test equipment to support repair and overhaul activities. Ensure compliance with company quality standards, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S and continuous improvement initiatives. Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections as required. Collaborate with inspectors, supervisors, engineering, and fellow technicians to meet production and customer delivery schedules. Identify, document, and report unserviceable or unsafe conditions. Participate in required training programs and maintain applicable certifications and qualifications. Qualifications You Must Have High school diploma or GED equivalent. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and FAA regulations. Basic understanding of troubleshooting techniques, with the ability to assist in diagnosing and repairing aerospace systems and components. Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic maintenance documentation systems. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a fast-paced production and repair environment. Qualifications We Prefer Valid FAA Repairman Certificate. Previous experience in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station environment. Experience working with aerospace electrical, mechanical, or avionics systems. Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices. Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair aerospace systems and components to the component level. Technical school, vocational training, or coursework in aviation maintenance, electronics, mechanics, or related field. Work Environment This position operates in an FAA-regulated repair station environment and may involve exposure to loud noise, moving machinery, chemicals, and aircraft fluids. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required. The position may require standing, lifting, bending, and repetitive motion throughout the shift.
