Speed Shop Aptos is a growing high end bicycle repair shop with a focus on MTB. We have built our reputation as being the leading service shop for world-cup-level repair and tuning. We specialize in factory level suspension service and tuning, custom wheel builds, dream bike builds, esoteric repairs and more. Our ideal candidate:
Someone who is efficient and knowledgeable in all types of bikes across a range of years and componentry. Able to work with other team members to problem solve and work though difficult situations effectively. Excellent performer in customer communications, service writing and customer service. Several years or more of high end bike shop experience. Responsibilities Effective service writing to ensure riders are fully set up, aware of all mechanical issues so bikes are race-ready when they leave the shop Service and repair a wide variety of high end bicycles and components. Most bikes you will see are carbon, with electronic shifting, carbon wheels, and factory level suspension. We see popular high end e-bike motor and battery systems from manufacturers like Bosch, Shimano, TQ, Specialized, Avinox, Mahle, Fazua and others. Knowledge of these systems is very important. Recommending upgrade parts and accessories to improve a riders experience, comfort or performance Set up suspension for riders seeking the best ride quality from their bikes and lead conversations on suspension theory and philosophy to better inform them of their ideal setup. Work quickly and efficiently when performing repair tasks while maintaining the highest level of quality. Manage bicycle repairs from start to finish while maintaining quality standards and adhering to safety protocols. Communicate with customers in an effective and friendly manner over phone, text and email. Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized bicycle repair equipment to assemble, disassemble, and maintain bikes efficiently. Retail responsibilities of scheduling and setting up demo bikes and guiding customers to purchase their next new bike. Working with the team to ensure parts are in stock and help with building inventory orders Utilize POS systems for service scheduling, sales transactions and inventory management including checking in orders and transfers. Lift heavy bikes or components safely during repairs or maintenance tasks to prevent injury and ensure proper handling. Collaborate with team members on maintenance work orders and ensure timely completion of all service tasks. Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and communication. Be a good person.
