Specialist III - Floor Tech Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center

• Environmental Services 004 Anniston , AL Support Services full-time , evenings/nights , Sun-Thurs/9p-5:30a Req # 15976 According to established procedures, cleans and services hospital areas. Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies in and around hospital departments; and performs a variety of hospital duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition. This position is also responsible for ensuring clean, orderly and attractive floor conditions in the hospital. Perform routine and project floor care including scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing, and burnishing of hard surface floors Maintain carpets through extraction, shampooing, spotting, and interim cleaning methods Operate and maintain floor care equipment (auto scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, extractors, wet vacs) safely and effectively Follow proper chemical usage, dilution, and safety procedures in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and SDS requirements Complete assigned floor care projects within established timeframes and quality standards Identify and report flooring issues (damage, hazards, wear patterns) to leadership Maintain floor care equipment, including cleaning, basic troubleshooting, and reporting maintenance needs Ensure proper signage is used (wet floor signs, caution barriers) to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors Perform high dusting and detail cleaning in conjunction with floor care projects Assist with moving furniture, beds, and equipment to complete floor care work Support daily EVS operations as needed, including patient room cleaning or discharge cleaning during staffing shortages Adhere to infection prevention standards, including proper PPE use and cleaning protocols in clinical and non-clinical areas Maintain productivity standards and complete required documentation (logs, work orders, project tracking) Demonstrate professionalism and provide courteous interactions with patients, visitors, and staff

WORKING CONDITIONS

: May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases. May be in contact with patients in a wide variety of circumstances. Able to handle emergency or crisis situations. Occasionally subject to irregular hours. May be required to wear protective equipment as necessary. High School degree or equivalent preferred

Experience:

Must be able to work well with others. Verbal and written communications skills are required. Is expected to project a professional attitude in appearance and conduct. Is expected to attend work as scheduled. Must comply with the Hospital's Code of Conduct. Must be able to stand and walk for long hours and have the mobility and strength to move quickly, stoop, and/or bend repeatedly. Must have dexterity of hands, eyes, and mind to perform assigned tasks. Must have the ability to remain calm under stress.
