Job Description

Job Description Overview Auburn University Facilities Management is looking for a talented and detail‑oriented Sign Technician to join our team! In this role, you'll help keep our campus safe, welcoming, and easy to navigate by installing, maintaining, repairing, and removing signage across university property. From directional signage to building identifiers to specialty signs, your work will directly support the daily experience of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. We're looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in craftsmanship, and has experience working with different sign types, materials, and tools. A strong focus on safety and quality is essential, as is a commitment to delivering excellent service to our campus community. Responsibilities Create signage using equipment such as vinyl plotter, engraver, and flat-bed printers. Installs signage on monument signs, door directories, building exteriors, and coroplast sheeting. Assists in preparing / installation of sheet marking paint on roadways and parking lots. Demonstrates advanced abilities to use hand and power tools such as post hole diggers, augur, shovel, drill, leaf blower, etc. Demonstrates a working knowledge of ADA standards and regulations pertaining to interior signage and parking lot signage and parking lot signage as well as parking lot spacing.
Qualifications Level I:
High School Diploma or GED.
Valid Driver's License Level II:
High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of experience with installing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of signage to include: vinyl, metal, and various other types of materials used in the sign making process. Internal candidates may be required to provide training and certification requirements as outlined by the Auburn University Facilities Management Policy for some positions. Valid Driver's License Asbestos Abatement Worker within 180 days. Traffic Control Technician Certification (ATSSA - American Traffic Safety Services Association) within 180 days.
