$25-$35 Job Description The Service Technician works at a designated facility performing a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and facilities maintenance tasks. This role supports day-to-day operations by responding to work orders, handling changeovers, and completing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on building systems and equipment. The technician ensures equipment reliability, resolves error codes, and keeps the facility safe, functional, and efficient. Responsibilities Work at a designated center performing maintenance tasks on building systems and equipment. Respond to work orders and tickets, including handling equipment changeovers and other assigned tasks. Perform mechanical maintenance and repair work on valves, gears, chains, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Carry out electrical work including installation and maintenance of lights, plugs, switches, controls, wiring, and panels. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs. Respond to and resolve error codes in building systems and equipment. Perform facilities maintenance tasks such as repairing or replacing lights, switches, plugs, pipes, sinks, and toilets. Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Install and service various systems, including HVAC, mechanical, and electrical components. Follow and execute a maintenance schedule to ensure timely completion of all required tasks. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to perform installations, repairs, and maintenance correctly. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area while adhering to facility safety procedures and guidelines. Essential Skills 3-6+ years of experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics. 3-6+ years of experience performing service and installation on different systems. 3-6+ years of experience working with HVAC systems. Hands-on experience performing mechanical maintenance and repair on valves, gears, chains, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Proficiency in electrical work, including installation and maintenance of lights, plugs, switches, controls, wiring, and panels. Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, and facility systems. Ability to troubleshoot and respond to error codes in building systems. Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance practices. Ability to perform facilities maintenance tasks such as working on lights, switches, plugs, pipes, sinks, and toilets. Ability to follow and work from a maintenance schedule. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Experience with HVAC, pneumatics, and hydraulics in a service environment. The position requires working throughout the facility, including equipment areas and general building spaces, to perform repairs, installations, and scheduled maintenance. The work environment emphasizes safety, adherence to maintenance schedules, and effective response to work orders and system error codes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bessemer, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
