Job Description
Maintenance Technician Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support maintenance operations in a fast-paced industrial environment, such as a distribution center, warehouse, or manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on conveyors, material handling equipment, automated systems, and facility machinery. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and experience maintaining equipment that supports high-volume operations. Duties and equipment types referenced below are consistent with maintenance roles involving conveyor systems, motors, gearboxes, and material handling equipment. Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, rollers, and related material handling equipment. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform repairs to minimize operational downtime. Inspect equipment and identify potential issues before failures occur. Complete work orders and document maintenance activities using a CMMS or maintenance tracking system. Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and facility improvement projects. Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements and company safety standards. Work closely with operations personnel to ensure equipment reliability and production goals are met. Qualifications 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a distribution center, warehouse, manufacturing facility, or similar environment. Experience maintaining and troubleshooting conveyor systems and automated material handling equipment. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Experience with motors, drives, bearings, gearboxes, and power transmission equipment. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Familiarity with CMMS software and maintenance documentation. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in an industrial environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with automated distribution systems, sortation equipment, or high-speed conveyor systems. Technical certification, vocational training, or related maintenance education. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Bessemer, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
