Rock Point Real Estate is seeking an experienced and motivated Property Maintenance Technician to join our growing team in Decatur and Huntsville! We are hiring a skilled maintenance tech to help support the operations of two multifamily communities: a 192-unit apartment community in Decatur, AL , and a 58-unit community in Huntsville, AL. This position reports directly to our Maintenance Supervisor and plays a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment for our residents at both properties. You will need to be able to commute to both Decatur and Huntsville throughout the week or day. You will also need to be available to report to emergencies when on-call.

Estimated Pay:

$20 - $27 an hour This role is ideal for a seasoned maintenance professional who can efficiently handle property repairs, preventive maintenance, and resident service requests. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, takes initiative, and can stay on track when working independently.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform general property maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC troubleshooting, and basic carpentry. Handle work orders and unit turnovers efficiently. Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure property quality. Participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend emergency maintenance calls.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2-5 years of property maintenance experience Strong knowledge of plumbing and electrical is required Experience with HVAC is preferred but not required Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues efficiently Painting and drywall repair experience Self-motivated and able to work independently while managing multiple tasks Strong customer service skills and attention to detail We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, proactively solves problems, and is committed to maintaining a high standard of quality and efficiency.
