Job Description
Maintenance Technician - Homewood Suites Rogers Position Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the hotel's guest rooms, public areas, and building systems are well‑maintained, safe, and fully operational. This role performs routine and preventive maintenance, responds to guest and staff work orders, and supports the overall cleanliness and functionality of the property. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail‑oriented, and committed to delivering a comfortable and worry‑free stay for every guest. Key ResponsibilitiesPreventive Maintenance Complete scheduled preventive maintenance on guest rooms, suites, appliances, HVAC units, lighting, and plumbing fixtures. Inspect and maintain building systems including mechanical, electrical, and life‑safety equipment. Document all PM tasks and report any issues requiring additional repair or vendor support. Work Orders & Repairs Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests. Troubleshoot and repair issues related to: Plumbing (toilets, sinks, drains, leaks) Electrical (outlets, switches, lighting) HVAC (filters, thermostats, basic diagnostics) Appliances (refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, stovetops) General room repairs (doors, locks, furniture, fixtures) Ensure all completed work meets brand standards and guest expectations. Property Upkeep & Safety Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of maintenance shop and storage areas. Remove trash and debris from maintenance areas, exterior grounds, and designated hotel spaces as needed. Perform routine inspections of hallways, stairwells, public areas, and exterior grounds to identify and correct safety hazards. Support emergency response procedures when needed. General Hotel Support Assist with room readiness by ensuring all maintenance‑related issues are resolved before guest arrival. Help with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, landscaping support, or pool upkeep (if applicable). Communicate effectively with the front desk, housekeeping, and management to ensure smooth operations. Qualifications Previous maintenance experience preferred; hotel or apartment maintenance experience is a plus. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repair work. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform physical tasks safely. Strong problem‑solving skills and a guest‑focused mindset. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Availability to work weekends or evenings as needed.
