JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision from the Project Manager, the Renovation Technician performs skilled renovation, remodeling, and unit-turn work throughout the Glencroft campus. The Renovation Technician repairs and improves residential units, common areas, offices, and other campus spaces, including carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, cabinetry, doors, hardware, fixtures, basic plumbing, and basic electrical work. The scope of responsibilities is diversified depending upon renovation schedules, resident turnover needs, capital projects, and Facilities department priorities. The Renovation Technician is expected to work independently, protect resident areas, coordinate professionally with staff, residents, vendors, and contractors, and complete quality work in accordance with Glencroft standards. The Renovation Technician will possess a genuine interest in and concern for geriatric, chronically ill and/or disabled persons. Must be able to fluently communicate in or to take or give direction or guidance in the English language.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Regular attendance is considered an essential function of this position and is necessary for the efficient operation of the business. Performs skilled renovation and remodeling work in residential units, common areas, offices, and other campus spaces as assigned. Completes unit turns including repairs, finish work, fixture replacement, painting, flooring, cabinetry, doors, hardware, trim, and related improvements. Performs carpentry, drywall repair, texture, painting, flooring installation or repair, cabinetry, countertops, trim, wall, ceiling, door, and window work. Performs basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical-related tasks within the scope of experience and applicable safety requirements. Repairs and replaces fixtures, hardware, screens, doors, cabinets, shelving, walls, ceilings, and related building components. Reads and follows work orders, project scopes, drawings, product instructions, equipment manuals, and manufacturer specifications. Assists with material take-offs, staging, supply ordering, and preparation of renovation areas for timely project completion. Coordinates with Facilities leadership, contractors, vendors, and other departments to minimize disruption to residents and campus operations. Maintains clean, organized, and safe work areas, including dust control, debris removal, tool storage, and protection of campus property. Troubleshoots renovation-related issues, identifies needed repairs, and recommends practical solutions. Uses hand tools, power tools, ladders, equipment, and renovation materials safely and appropriately. Completes routine paperwork, work order documentation, project updates, and basic computer entries as required. Provides quality customer service and communicates professionally with residents, staff members, contractors, and vendors. Assists in maintaining renovation standards, finish consistency, and quality control expectations across the Glencroft campus. Responsible for being available for 24-hour emergency and call-out situations. Performs all other duties as assigned. Participates in safety meetings and practices safe work habits in accordance with Glencroft and City/State Regulated Safety Policies and Procedures.
