This position helps ensure aquatic facilities, and surrounding support areas are clean, properly maintained, and operated in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of Sun City Grand Community Association.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Clean and maintain pools, spas, and related aquatic areas in a safe and sanitary condition; including brushing, vacuuming, tile scrubbing, and general upkeep according to established procedures;
  • Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on pumps, chlorinators, heaters, filtration equipment, and related systems to help maintain proper operating condition;
  • Clean and disinfect pool decks and surrounding areas to support a sale, clean, and presentable environment;
  • Conduct water testing, apply chemicals as appropriate, and help monitor or replenish chemicals and supplies as needed;
  • Maintain filters, backwash systems, and pumps in accordance with established procedures and operating standards;
  • Operate a variety of tools, machines and equipment used in aquatic maintenance, including pumps, hoses, brushes, vacuums, and related equipment;
  • Prepare and maintain records regarding chlorine and PH levels, supplies and applicable County Health Department requirements;
  • Perform minor repair or replacement of pool deck and poolside equipment as needed;
  • Set up pool equipment for classes, programs, and occasional swim events;
  • Keep current with events and activities occurring at The Grand that may affect Aquatics operations, scheduling, or facility readiness;
  • Respond to residents, guests, vendors, and staff in a professional, tactful, and courteous manner; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
  • Basic knowledge of pool maintenance practices, water chemistry, sanitation procedures, and aquatic equipment operation.
Ability to:
  • Work independently and follow established procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Safely operate equipment and carry out assigned maintenance and custodial duties.
  • Work in wet environments and in small or confined spaces for extended periods when necessary.
  • Travel throughout common areas and Association facilities to inspect, respond, and perform assigned work.
  • Work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, as operational needs require.
  • Manage multiple tasks, interruptions, changes, and delays while remaining focused, efficient, and positive.
  • Work effectively in a team environment and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Interact professionally, tactfully, and courteously with residents and the public in person and by telephone.
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Meet work deadlines and schedules reliably.
  • Read faint or partially obscured writing or print, with corrective lenses if needed.
  • Communicate in English clearly enough to conduct business with people of varying backgrounds, education levels, and capabilities.
  • Exercise sound judgment, remain mentally alert, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED required, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Valid Arizona driver's license required and must be maintained throughout employment.
Preferred:
experience in pool maintenance and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification.
Pay:
$18.00 - $19.00 per hour
