Maintenance Technicians play an important role in keeping our apartment communities operating safely, efficiently, and at a high standard. They respond to resident service requests, troubleshoot and complete repairs, prepare apartment homes for new residents, and help maintain the overall condition of the community.
Responsibilities may include:
Completing resident service requests promptly and professionally Troubleshooting and repairing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, and other apartment systems Performing general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the community Preparing vacant apartments for new residents, including completing repairs and ensuring homes are move-in ready Inspecting apartments, common areas, and building systems for maintenance needs Assisting with the upkeep of community amenities, grounds, and common areas Identifying and reporting maintenance or safety concerns Maintaining tools, equipment, supplies, and work areas Providing professional and courteous service when interacting with residents Working closely with the onsite team to keep the community operating at a high standard Schedule Expectations Maintenance Technicians work a five-day schedule and participate in a rotational on-call schedule to respond to after-hours emergency maintenance needs. What We Look For Previous apartment maintenance experience can be valuable, but relevant hands-on experience from other industries may also be a great fit. We're looking for individuals who bring: Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills A hands-on approach and genuine interest in repairing and maintaining things A strong work ethic and dependable attendance A positive attitude and willingness to learn Good attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship The ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organization and follow-through A professional and respectful approach when interacting with residents and coworkers The ability to perform physically active work and use tools and equipment safely Previous experience in apartment maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, construction, facilities maintenance, or a related skilled trade is a plus Valid driver's license Why Consider a Career with GIT?
