POSITION SUMMARY
- Assigned mechanical job duties to maintain and repair food processing equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES, OR JOB DUTIES
- Inspect, repair and maintain machinery, and equipment throughout the facility
- Trouble shoot, repair, and replace machinery as required
- Read sketches and blueprints to determine the layout of assigned work
- Design, fabricate, weld, and install equipment as required
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and PM completed
- Monitor equipment operation making any necessary adjustments
- Complete PO Requests to order parts and supplies for the department
- Assist in training new and junior Mechanics
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- May describe any additional non-essential functions. the qualifications in terms of skills, knowledge, education and training required for competent performance in this job.
- Responsible for general housekeeping of assigned work areas
- Operate machinery and tools in a safe manner
- May assist in scheduling of mechanics for department
- Other duties as assigned or required by Management
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to use required hand and power tools (including welders (MIG & TIG) and torch cutters)
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Mechanical repair and equipment maintenance knowledge
- Attention to detail when working with diagrams, prints, and manuals
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Some post-high school education or training is beneficial
EXPERIENCE
- 1 year of related experience
- Five (5) years of Maintenance Mechanic experience in an industrial setting preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Indoor and Outdoor exposures, along with hot and cold weather, machinery and forklift noise, moving equipment, and wet floors.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Bump hat, eye and ear protection.

- Responsible for completion of all job assignments in accordance with established procedures to meet quality, production, and safety goals.
