JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Level 1 works on multiple tasks which may include but not limited to maintenance and repair of all plant equipment (including facility and grounds). Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and industrial electrical as well as Industrial PLCs. Fabrication of equipment, including use of various welding techniques; MIG, TIG and stick welding. Work closely with higher lever maintenance mechanics to continue development and gain experience to improve site maintenance operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Demonstrate knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electrical, refrigeration, motors, and pumps. Clean, lubricate, and make minor adjustments to parts, equipment, or machinery. Observe and test run equipment to ensure proper operation or detect potential problems. Examine parts/equipment for defects such as breakage or excessive wear. Perform basic welding skills. Perform basic plumbing and pipefitting. Perform minor repairs to equipment, motors, and pumps. (Change out bearings, seals, and coupling). Keep required personal and company tools clean and in good working order. Basic electrical 24 control, 120 - 480 voltage systems. Storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals, lubricants, hazardous, and non-hazardous waste. Understand procedures, guidelines, and training of water treatment systems, including boiler water, and evaporative condensers/cooling tower water treatment. Understand reliability skills through participation in root cause analysis/failure analysis, and Task /PM recommendation and improvements. Lubricant Analysis Program Complete all required paperwork correctly. Interact and communicate effectively with other coworkers and management in a team environment.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
Work with Process Safety Management, HACCP, and Plant Safety Teams Learn and comply with all corporate and department work safety rules, including LOTO, Arc Flash, and Confined Space. Work effectively at heights of 40' and higher, as well as entering and working in confined spaces. Perform proper sanitation techniques to comply with food safety standards. Learn and implement Lean manufacturing and/or TPM knowledge. This job description reflects management's assignment of general functions; it does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Must be 21 years or older at time of hire. Must have 3+ years' experience in Maintenance role, or as Equipment/Machine Operator. Must demonstrate knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electrical, refrigeration, motors, and pumps through working in a related job field or have education in the field of Maintenance, Industrial Technician, or related field. Must be able to work independently on any assigned shift with minimal supervision. Must be able to comprehend and carry out written and verbal work orders and instructions. Ability to perform basic math. Basic computer skills - Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to read and interpret Blueprint and Schematic (mechanical and electrical). Must pass and maintain valid forklift certification, aerial scissor lift, and aerial lift. Must be able to read, write, and speak English, and have excellent communication skills. Must be able to pass all applicable testing. Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to lift and carry weights of up to 55lbs at varying frequency and duration. Must be able to repeatedly climb stairs/vertical tank ladders at heights of 40' and higher. Work at various heights 40 feet or higher, as well as in confined spaces. Work with hazardous chemicals and wear a face mask and appropriate PPE. Requires bending, lifting, climbing, pulling, and pushing.
COMPENSATION
Hourly Pay Range Posted:
$20.91 - $31.39hr. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, knowledge and abilities, education, and other position-related factors.
