Job Description
The Landscape Technician must know and gain proficiency in performing regular tasks of landscape installation and demonstrate the ability to work within the quality and performance guidelines as established by the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and responsibilities of the position including, but not limited to, are:- Be familiar with company manual and policies contained and set forth, including safety guidelines and standards.
- Comply with all company policies/procedures and safety requirements.
- Maintain physical fitness level necessary to complete assigned job tasks.
- Be conscientious of safety procedures for company employees on the job site.
- Report all unsafe conditions and practices daily to supervisor.
- Use proper care of tools and equipment on the job site to avoid loss or misuse.
- Complete basic drainage installation under supervision.
- Perform project demolition.
- Learn basic tractor operation, inspection and maintenance.
- Demonstrate proficient use of basic machinery.
- Learn to check fluid levels and monitor safe operation of equipment used.
- Install lateral irrigation lines under supervision.
- Install drip line and emitters under supervision.
- Complete basic mulch installation including detailing around plants.
- Assist with lawn area grading and sod installation.
- Assist with planting and develop advanced planting skills.
- Learn basic dry set stonework.
- Learn basic low voltage lighting installation.
- Assist with daily worksheets.
- Communicate with lead people progress of tasks.
- Meet company production rates and standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty safely and satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and physical, mental and/or environmental ability required.Education and Experience Desired:
- High School Diploma or GED or Specific Vocational Training
- On-the-job training

- General Learning Ability
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations accurately, add, divide and compute percentage.
- Talking with and signaling people to convey or exchange information.
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with arms and/or legs.
- Basic mechanical aptitude or demonstrated ability to learn.
- Able to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic forms.
- Ability to perform a variety of duties everyday.
