Summary/Objective The maintenance mechanic position conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service. Essential Functions Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs of production equipment. Maintain Preventative Maintenance records Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs. Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines. Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. MS Word, Excel, Outlook a plus, Basic Computer skills.
JOB DUTIES
Use computerized system for work orders / timesheets (minimal) Order or create requisitions to maintain key parts and supplies to maintain smooth operation of the Plant Communicate with vendors and oversee contractors working onsite Fabrication, welding and cutting Drive Forklift •Forklift Maintenance is a plus Some overtime hours as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to occasionally life and/or move up to 50 pounds Ability to frequently walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to occasionally bend, squat and/or stoop. Frequently works near or around moving mechanical parts. Exposed to a high level of noise in the work environment. Exposed to airborne particles. Work environment Wood processing, manufacturing operation. Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, including variations in temperature and precipitation. Must take a pre-employment drug test and a background check to be considered for the position. Drug test and background check will be performed. Competencies Ethical Conduct. Discretion. Problem Solving/Analysis. Technical Capacity. Required Experience 2+ years of related experience in production machines.
