SUMMARY:
Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, tools, equipment, furnishing, fixtures, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems using journeyman level skills in all the various crafts required to complete the essential functions of the job.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under periodic supervision and review, does highly complex work using considerable initiative and ingenuity by performing the following tasks. Other work related duties may be assigned as necessitated by Company priorities. 1. Visually inspects and tests machinery, tools and equipment to assure proper working condition. 2. Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with appropriate personnel to diagnose problem or repair machine. 3. Dismantles defective machines, tools and equipment and installs new or repaired parts. 4. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. 5. Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment, as well as telephone and other communication lines or equipment. 6. Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, including facility plumbing, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. 7. Repairs and maintains physical structure and appearance of establishment.

Includes the performance or oversight of cleaning, painting, repairing furniture or fixtures, moving or installing furniture or fixtures, disposal of trash, recyclables, hazardous material, etc. 8. Install, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers. 9. Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, milling machine, etc. to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools. 10. Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. 12. Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other structures which may be wood, drywall, metal, glass or other construction material. 13. Licensed and capable of operating a motor vehicle. Skilled to drive and operate a forklift. 14. Works as an active team member by participating in problem solving, team building, and all other team activities to improve the processes, productivity, quality, etc. of the department and the company. Uses interpersonal skills as well as good written and verbal communications. Performs any training of other employees in maintenance and repair functions as required. Assists other Company personnel as required. Equipment / Process responsibilities
  • Performs duties where facility, property, tools, equipment, or machines may be damaged or man hours lost, through improper daily maintenance and attention to processing. Maintains and repairs machines, tools and equipment as well as physical plant and furnishings at highest levels of complexity. Material or Product Responsibilities
  • Performs duties that require close attention to work and supporting documentation specifications and other requirements. Responsible for proper functioning of all machines, tools, equipment, furnishings and the physical plant. Responsibility for Work of Others
  • Accuracy of communication is mandatory to the successful maintenance and repair of machines, tools, equipment, furnishings and the physical plant. Must communicate to appropriate personnel any problems or concerns regarding maintenance or repair issues as it affects production schedules or the working environment. Safety Responsibilities
  • Good housekeeping, a total knowledge of all safety requirements related to machines, tools and equipment. A thorough knowledge of safety requirements as related to the physical plant regarding such things as fire safety regulations, hazardous material handling procedures, building safety codes etc. Adherence to, and enforcement of Company safety rules is mandatory.   • Requires considerable initiative in solving highly complex problems related to maintaining and repairing the physical plant, furnishings and all machines, tools and equipment.
Uses considerable ingenuity in adapting to situations or conditions that are extremely variable and where limited standardization exists.

Environmental Surroundings
  • Work is in a machine shop environment where noise, temperature fluctuations, exposure to outdoor elements is less desirable than in a typical office environment. Unavoidable Hazards
  • Possible hazards related to cuts, bruises, burns, electrical shock, muscle strains and severe trauma.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, metalworking fluids and chemicals, heating elements, open flames, high voltage electricity and airborne particles. Risks from working in confined spaces, on ladders or other elevated positions and from repetitive motion or awkward positions. Risks from exposure to outdoor elements and weather conditions. Risks from the operation of a motor vehicle and forklift. Protective safety wear and equipment should be worn as appropriate to the task at hand. EFFORT Physical
  • Able to lift over 100 pounds.
Requires hand and finger manipulation to operate hand and power tools, instruments, and/or install or repair various components such as wiring, conduit, switches, relays, pipes, valves, etc. required by job duties. Must be able to reach, bend, stretch, kneel, stoop, crawl and climb, and work in confined spaces such as attics, crawl spaces etc. Job assignments may require standing, sitting, working on a ladder, or in a confined space or outdoors for periods exceeding 15 minutes at a time.   • Considerable reasoning ability required to interpret complex blueprints, drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, floor plans, etc. Must be able to draw valid conclusions from a variety of abstract and concrete variables.   • Close attention to detail with moderate eye concentration for extended periods of time.
Able to read precision instruments. Requires close and distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, focus adjustment and depth perception.
Compensation:
DOE $31.42 to $37.89 LG 10 3rd shift Sunday through Thursday 9:00pm to 5:30am
  • Header and CNC Machine experience is a plus
  • Qualifications
EDUCATION / TRAINING
Demonstrated ability to read and write English of a level required in Company shop documents and computer software entry and processing requirements as well as technical, installation and maintenance manuals. Must be capable of applying mathematical operations using fractions, decimals, algebra and geometry as required by essential job duties. Must be able to operate all machines tools and equipment at a highly complex level as required by essential job duties. Generally equivalent to journeyman trade school graduate or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
Requires 3
  • 5 years at journeyman level or equivalent skills and knowledge expertise in physical plant and industrial machine installations, maintenance and repairs whichever is necessary to fulfill job requirements.
Must have a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code. Must have knowledge of government required Building and Safety Codes as well as knowledge of construction methods and techniques. Must read precision measuring instruments such as various gauges, meters, calipers and micrometers as well as wiring diagrams, machine schematics, blueprints and other documentation similar or comparable to those used by the Company. Compensation In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $31.42 to $37.89/hour Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses. Further details will be provided by our recruiting team during the interview process. This role involves access to technical data and/or hardware subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
