Overview Join our dynamic team as a Gate Technician Helper specializing in garage door installation and repair! As a vital support member, you will assist experienced technicians in installing, repairing, and maintaining garage doors and related hardware at various job sites. Responsibilities Assist lead technicians with the installation, repair, and maintenance of garage doors, openers, and related hardware using hand tools and power tools Support heavy lifting tasks to move doors, springs, panels, and other equipment safely and efficiently Help with door hanging, frame carpentry, and metal stud framing to ensure proper alignment and secure mounting Prepare work areas by cleaning, organizing tools, and setting up scaffolding or ladders as needed Follow schematics, blueprints, and technical instructions for precise installation or repair procedures Aid in fabricating components or modifying parts using welding or cutting tools when required Ensure all safety protocols are followed during every task to maintain a secure work environment Requirements Prior experience with construction site work or handyman tasks is highly preferred Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and basic carpentry techniques Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively on a regular basis Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, or mechanical drawings is a plus Basic electrical experience or locksmithing knowledge can be advantageous but not mandatory Strong mechanical aptitude with an interest in fabrication, remodeling, or metal framing projects Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills in garage door installation and repair This role offers an engaging environment where you can build foundational skills in construction, mechanical systems, and fabrication.
