Goleta, CA Job Details $25 - $40 an hour 22 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Qualifications Mechanical blueprint interpretation Blueprint specification interpretation Personal protective equipment (PPE) use Electrical schematic reading and interpretation Industrial equipment troubleshooting High school diploma or GED Technical troubleshooting support Full Job Description Main Tasks Key Responsibilities Maintenance Execution Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment including hydraulic presses, chillers, compressors, and filtration systems Conduct condition monitoring such as vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and oil sampling Inspect and service rotating equipment, including bearings, belts, and lubrication systems Document maintenance activities and close work orders in CMMS (SAP, eMaint, or similar systems) Troubleshooting and Repair Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled systems (Allen Bradley and Siemens preferred) Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components including drives, servos, relays, sensors, and pneumatic systems Perform mechanical and alignment adjustments on conveyors, gearboxes, and tooling Respond to equipment downtime and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence Installation and Commissioning Support installation of new equipment and upgrades Align motors, calibrate sensors/encoders, and validate system functionality Coordinate with Engineering and OEMs during commissioning activities Facilities and Utilities Support Maintain HVAC, compressed air systems, RO/DI water systems, and chilled water loops Monitor system performance including pressures, fluid levels, and control panels Perform general building maintenance tasks as required Safety and Compliance Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash, and confined space requirements Conduct job hazard analyses prior to maintenance work Support safety audits and corrective action implementation Documentation and Process Improvement Maintain accurate maintenance records and update technical documentation Support development and adherence to SOPs and maintenance procedures Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives Inventory Management Track usage of spare parts and support inventory replenishment processes Identify critical parts shortages and escalate procurement needs Maintain organization of tools and spare parts storage areas Collaboration and Communication Participate in daily production and maintenance meetings Communicate equipment issues affecting production, quality, or safety Train and mentor entry-level technicians as needed Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or technical certification in maintenance, electrical, or related field Experience with PLC programming or advanced troubleshooting Certifications in HVAC, electrical systems, automation, or related disciplines Familiarity with SAP PM, eMaint, or similar CMMS platforms Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights with appropriate PPE Compensation and Benefits Hourly rate: $25.00 - $40.00 (based on experience and qualifications) Health insurance Retirement plans Paid time off Professional development opportunities
