About the Role As a Field Service Technician specializing in commercial entryways, you will be the primary expert responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial door systems and hardware. You will play a vital role in ensuring facility security and operational efficiency by applying your mechanical aptitude to solve complex technical challenges in the field. Responsibilities Execute precise installations and repairs of commercial door systems, including hollow metal frames and storefront glazing. Diagnose and resolve mechanical failures such as malfunctioning locks, closers, hinges, and broken springs to restore site functionality. Configure and integrate advanced access control hardware to meet modern security requirements. Verify that all completed work adheres strictly to local building codes and safety regulations. Deliver exceptional on-site service by clearly communicating repair status and cost-effective solutions to clients. Maintain accurate digital documentation of service logs and project completions to ensure operational transparency. Perform rigorous quality inspections on all hardware and door assemblies to guarantee long-term performance. Qualifications Required Skills High school diploma or GED equivalent. Demonstrated proficiency with hand and power tools. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to perform accurate measurements and mathematical calculations involving fractions. Physical capacity to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders up to 20 feet, and work in various physical positions. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Preferred Skills 2+ years of hands-on experience in the commercial door or hardware industry. Prior experience with dock equipment or industrial automation. Familiarity with reading blueprints or technical schematics. Proven track record of providing high-quality customer service in a field-based role.
