Onsite Job Description We are looking for a highly motivated technician who can support the physical demands of day-to-day dyno lab operations. This role requires someone who is comfortable with hands-on, physically intensive work and takes pride in being actively engaged on the floor. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong work ethic, someone who naturally takes initiative without needing constant direction. They should have a positive attitude toward physical tasks, demonstrate resilience in a fast-paced environment, and be driven to contribute to the team's success. We are seeking individuals who are eager to grow, willing to roll up their sleeves, and hungry to be part of a team that values accountability, ownership, and getting the job done right—without hesitation or complaint.
The Role:
Shifts available: Morning and Swing
Physically install and set up test articles on test beds.
Execute both standard and lower risk non-standard tests.
Provide organized and detailed feedback to test requestors during tests.
Regularly update test tickets with precise findings and notes to support the creation of test reports.
Regularly interact directly with engineers from various cross-functional teams.
Execution with basic data acquisition systems and related instrumentation.
Work successfully in an independent capacity with minimal guidance.
Diagnose and debug basic issues at a system, modular, and component level with a precise and methodical approach- Escalate internally as needed.
Conduct routine maintenance checks on test cells.
Exercise consistent safety and organization practices in the lab.
Drive continuous improvement for tests and test cells.
Maintain a high level of physical engagement throughout daily operations, including lifting, setup, teardown, and hands-on support
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of automotive or related technician experience.
Strong work ethic with the ability to handle physically demanding tasks daily
Demonstrates a proactive, self-starting mindset and takes ownership of responsibilities
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
Positive attitude toward hands-on work; no hesitation performing physical tasks as part of the job Strong organization and clean work environment habits 5S knowledge.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Moderate experience with shop tools including but not limited to torque wrenches, drivers, power tools, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.
Demonstrate understanding of electrical hazards, including precautionary measures around high voltage equipment and rotating machinery.
Detail oriented personality with exceptional documentation and reporting skills.
Strong Microsoft office and computer software literacy.
A true self-starter.
Excels in a fast-paced and dynamic environment- Remain focused and poised in the face of un-planned changes.
Basic experience working with standard industrial communication interfaces i.e. CAN bus, Ethernet, Modbus
Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Preferred:
Experience in dyno-specific testing interfaces.
Experience with electric vehicle drive systems.
Experience with electric vehicles and/or automotive products.
Experience with Atlassian Jira, National Instruments hardware & related software strongly desired.
