Job Description

Home Repair Technician We are a home repair and improvement company servicing the East Bay Area. We take pride in offering a wide array of services ranging from small household tasks to larger-scale home repair and installation projects. Our team is quickly growing, and we are in need of a highly skilled Home Repair Technician to join us. Technicians are expected to independently lead the work of projects or repair appointments with clients. Customer service skills are critical to be successful in the role.   • 2 years' experience working with home repair and/or construction. Experience in multiple disciplines is required (i.e., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, etc.).
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
  • A valid California Driver's License, and current, and up to date, automobile insurance
  • Must own and maintain reliable transportation & tools including but not limited to basic hand tools, drills, circular saw, angle grinder, multi-tool, sander, vacuum, step ladder, hole saws and masonry bits. Must keep standard materials stocked at all times, provided by the company. Basic Handyman Tools & Materials list included with Job Description . Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greet customers warmly and review job scope to confirm details. Take excellent care of their home-do no damage, observe possible future projects/issues, keep a clean & organized work site, clean up during & after projects, etc.
  • Diagnose and perform various home repair/improvement tasks including but not limited to mounting TVs, replacing faucets, installing and/or repairing lights and plumbing fixtures, drywall patching, painting, repair of exterior home fixtures and systems such as irrigation, fencing and decks, and other household projects at the request of clients.
  • Plan, manage and perform home improvement projects including kitchen & bathroom remodel, deck and retaining wall construction, flooring, tile, and drywall installation, painting tasks, demolition and clean-up.
  • Perform basic repairs on household appliances such as diagnosing and repairing dishwasher & washing machine leaks, repairing garbage disposals, replacing heater filters & checking pilot lights, etc.
  • Document job notes & details thoroughly. Submit before, during, & after photos of the work performed. Track business related expenses and submit receipts in a timely manner.
  • Train and mentor apprentice level staff on construction, plumbing, electrical and other general trade related work and best practices.

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality, at all times.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to manage projects independently from start to finish.
  • Strong ability to follow and interpret directions, and to work autonomously with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a strong ability to prioritize and manage tasks.
  • Strong proficiency and ability to conduct repair and construction tasks such as, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, caulking, spackling, wood filling, sanding, general painting prep, fence & gate repair
  • Strong proficiency with plumbing diagnosis/repair, plumbing fixture installation (sinks, faucets, toilets)
  • Strong proficiency with electrical diagnosis/repair & fixture installation (lights, ceiling fans, TVs, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of interior & exterior door & window installation and repair.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of construction tools and power equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 100lbs on occasion, and to lift up to 40lbs frequently, throughout the workday.
We set posts fairly regularly and a bag of concrete typically weighs 50 lbs.
COMPENSATION
    Salary:
    $25 - $45 We value paying our team fairly and aim to develop a long term partnership with our technicians. As such, we offer competitive pay. Entry level (minimal experience, high aptitude) pay is $25. Project manager pay starts at $45. Opportunities for leadership and higher pay available as well.
