Job Description
Repairs, installs and performs preventive maintenance on all production equipment or as assigned to ensure that such equipment is in good operable condition at all times. Uses electrical and mechanical expertise to trouble shoot, repair, install and perform preventive and interactive maintenance on all production equipment accessories to ensure that all equipment is in good operable condition at all times. Practices 5s and world class manufacturing principles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Complies and adheres to the preventive maintenance program and continuously improves program using 5s as a guide, which includes the following activities: 1. Conducts installation of programs and troubleshoots on variable frequency drives (VDPs). 2. Conducts installation of programs and troubleshoots on the Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). 3. Installs, operates, maintains, checks and troubleshoots all types of AC and DC electrical along with the mechanical equipment. 4. Installs and repairs electrical conduit, cables, piping and tubing, including all necessary connections, controls and grounding as directed. 5. Reads and makes proper installations of complex electrical circuits from wiring diagrams as instructed. 6. Conducts disassembling, repairing and reassembling of gear boxes, fans conveyors, blowers, compressors, pumps, valves, furnaces, drives and all allied mechanical equipment as directed. When related to electrical troubleshooting. 7. Conducts work on oven combustion setup and safety devices by troubleshooting. 8. Conducts work on hydraulic, compressed air systems and reading complex diagrams by troubleshooting on these systems. 9.Uses workshop tools such as:
MIG/TIG welding equipment (training and or certification is required to use equipment) Arc welding equipment (training and or certification is required to use equipment) Gas and Plasma cutting equipment (training and or certification is required to use equipment) Power tools such as drill presses, cut off saws, lathes mills and portable power hand tools Electrical test equipment such as voltmeter, megger, ammeter, diode and SCR tester 10. Prepares for 5s audits on a daily basis: reviewing toolboxes, company provided tools, spare parts room and assigned areas in the maintenance shop. All tools should be ready for use at all times. Inspects machines, takes any required test and completes reports and paperwork as required for company record. Performs PM using mobile frame assigned equipment list. Perform PM and repair work in accordance with A.I.B. and G.M.P. principals. Diagnoses and employs proper procedure of troubleshooting to determine when parts need replacement and when repairs are necessary. Operates mobile lift truck and hoisting equipment in the performance of maintenance work. Must have forklift operators license. Possesses knowledge of simple rigging when necessary for equipment moving and relocation. Possesses some knowledge of lubricants for all types of machines and performs necessary lubrication of production machines as directed. Uses mobile frame to maintain parts inventory for plant by checking out or returning parts from the spare parts room. Uses mobile frame for ordering parts or services. Trains less experienced employees as required. Performs preventive maintenance, inspections, adjustments and repairs as indicated on mobile frame program. Uses mobile frame to initiate and/or complete work orders. Troubleshoots and repairs food processing and industrial machinery. Cleans and paints all repaired equipment as directed. Follows all 5s practices by cleaning personal and company tools, clean assigned work areas after each use or prior to the end of shift. Completes safety checklist and individualized safety cross prior to the start of the shift. Completes tasks indicated on work orders, inspections and A.I.B. checklists as directed by supervisor. Keeps work area clean. Perform cleaning of area assigned. Assists in the training of new personnel. Provides suggestions to improve process, procedures and department in support of company goals Follows Company, GMP and Safety policies to ensure compliance with the Preventive Controls and AIB gold standard. Follows all food safety principles and legal requirements Maintains a positive and constructive work environment within the department as well as with other departments and promotes teamwork. Works in a safe manner, observing all safety requirements. Participates in monthly departmental meetings. Must work various shifts and hours including holidays and weekends. Other duties, as assigned.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent preferred. 6 years of industrial maintenance/electrical experience required. Food/beverage processing or packaging environment preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of local, state and federal electric codes preferred. Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC programming or equivalent preferred. Posesses knowledge of electrical motor control. Gas and Plasma cutting equipment. Power tools such as drill presses, cut off saws, lathes, mills and portable power hand tools. Electrical test equipment such as voltmeter, megger, ammeter, diode and SCR tester. Operates mobile lift trucks and hoisting equipment (forklifts, scissor lifts).Shift:
