Apartment Maintenance Technician in San Gabriel Valley and Ontario, CA area Job Description This role involves performing skilled and semi-skilled work to clean, maintain, repair, and improve the interior and exterior of residential units. You will handle a variety of tasks across carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, masonry, and appliance repair and installation, ensuring homes remain safe, functional, and well-presented for residents in the SGV and Ontario areas. Responsibilities Perform cleaning, maintenance, and general upkeep of the interior and exterior of residential units. Complete repairs and alterations in occupied and vacant units to maintain a high standard of habitability and appearance. Carry out carpentry tasks such as framing, trim work, and general wood repairs. Perform basic to intermediate electrical work, including troubleshooting and repairs within scope of role. Handle plumbing tasks such as fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, and ensuring proper function of plumbing systems. Support HVAC-related maintenance and basic repairs as needed. Prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces to restore and refresh units. Perform drywall installation and repair, including patching, taping, and finishing. Assist with masonry-related repairs and maintenance where required. Install, troubleshoot, and repair household appliances as needed. Use hand and power tools safely and effectively, including sawzall, cordless drill or impact, finish nail gun, and grinder. Measure, align, and plumb materials and conduits accurately during construction and repair tasks. Travel between job sites within SGV and Ontario to complete assigned work orders. Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area at each job site. Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members about work progress, issues, and material needs. Essential Skills Proficiency in at least two of the following trades: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or drywall repair. Ability to perform residential maintenance and repair tasks across multiple trades, including painting, construction, and basic HVAC support. Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with a variety of hand and power tools. Capability to use tools such as a sawzall, cordless drill or impact, finish nail gun, and grinder safely and effectively. Ability to read, measure, and plumb materials and conduit accurately. Willingness to learn new skills and techniques related to residential maintenance and renovation. Strong work ethic and consistently positive, professional attitude. Reliable transportation to travel to job sites throughout SGV and Ontario. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bilingual communication skills are a plus and help support a diverse resident base. Experience with drywall patching, taping, and finishing is highly beneficial. Background in construction, building maintenance, or related trades is advantageous. Comfort working independently and as part of a field-based maintenance team. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively across multiple job sites. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a field-based role with a Monday through Friday schedule and job sites located throughout the Inland Empire, including SGV and Ontario. You will work primarily in residential properties, both inside and outside, performing maintenance, repairs, and renovations. The position requires frequent use of hand and power tools such as sawzalls, cordless drills or impacts, finish nail guns, grinders, and other construction tools. Work conditions may include standing, bending, lifting, and working in various weather conditions when performing exterior tasks. You will typically wear practical work attire suitable for construction and maintenance activities, including sturdy footwear and clothing appropriate for using tools and working around dust, paint, and building materials. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Redlands, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
