ABOUT ASTROTECH SPACE OPERATIONS
Astrotech Space Operations opened its doors in 1981 as an aerospace consulting business. Our state-of-the-art payload processing facilities are ideally located to support launches from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and Kennedy Space Center in Florida, as well as the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. We provide processing areas for a wide range of spacecraft including complex communications, earth observations, and deep-space satellites. Our services encompass hardware integration and testing, fueling, and satellite encapsulation before transport to the pad. This position is critical to our mission support services. We are here to help our customers make the transition from factory operations to go for launch.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CLEANROOM TECHNICIAN
This position will prepare cleanrooms prior to customer occupancy and maintain cleanrooms in processing areas during campaigns. It will also provide cleanroom custodial services for processing areas, and will assist with janitorial services for the facility complex, to include administration areas, customer offices, restrooms, corridors, conference rooms, and breakrooms. Will also provide assistance with facility maintenance and operations as needed, and perform preventative maintenance inspections and work orders as required.
Key Duties include:
Maintain the clean work areas of hazardous and non-hazardous processing areas, to include high bays, control rooms, garment change rooms, restrooms, breakrooms, stairwells, and corridors. Assist in maintaining cleanroom conditions as required during periods of mission facility preparation/validation, customer operations, and down times. Stock cleanroom garments to maintain adequate supply at all times. Monitor inventories of cleanroom garments and janitorial supplies and initiate purchase order requests to reorder as required. Support Janitorial services for the facility complex. Support other on-site activities as related to facility maintenance and operations at the discretion of the Facility Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CLEANROOM TECHNICIAN
Qualified applicants must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of one (1) year of custodial and maintenance experience. Experience with cleanroom maintenance desired. Position requires a high attention to detail, a results-focused team player that can adapt to change with demonstrated initiative and accountability. Must be a self-starter who can work both independently and as part of a team. Must have knowledge of custodial services and cleanroom work practices. Should be proficient with floor scrubbers, buffers, and floor waxing equipment. Must complete Hazmat training as required. Should be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements relating to cleaning supplies. Position requires accessing overhead cranes at 100 feet. Must practice and promote safe working conditions in accordance with OSHA and other site regulations. Must be able to hold a security clearance, up to TS level, to retain employment , and will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for an elevated clearance. Must be able to work weekends, overtime, and off-shift hours for customer support if required. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
