The Facility Maintenance Technician is under general supervision and performs a wide variety of repair, diagnostic, and preventative maintenance tasks for all City facilities. This will include but is not limited to HVAC, plumbing, construction/remodel projects, preventative maintenance, and building/life safety systems support. Additionally, the Facility Maintenance Technician may serve as a backup for custodial work in unforeseen circumstances.ESSENTIAL DUTIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

replacing valves, faucets, ice makers, vetting, and de-clogging drains.Electrical maintenance:
replacing lighting, re-lamping, replacing plugs and switches, and preventative maintenance inspections. Visually inspects, analyzes and manually completes preventative maintenance work in a variety of facilities and building operation systems. Perform general maintenance (e.g. change light bulbs, maintain exterior property including snow removal, etc.) and manual repairs as needed. Recommend and pursue equipment repair to ensure consistent and appropriate operation. Manually performs semi-skilled rough and finished carpentry, concrete, masonry, drywall, painting, floor covering, construction and remodeling. Performs facility inspections, prepares and submit reports of conditions in the building and recommends actions to be taken. Provides accurate and timely repair to buildings and building systems including lighting, fire, security, backflow, conveyance, doors, roofing, furnishings, custodial, and equipment.HVAC preventative maintenance:
troubleshooting, replacement & repair of building automation systems maintenance (BAS), and energy maintenance. Maintains accurate and complete information on all projects utilizing on-line project tracking methods and systems. Diagnosing and repairing malfunctions, and performing repairs and replacements as needed. Knowledge of commercial building systems and maintenance requirements. Knowledge of the principles and practices of building maintenance. Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local building codes. Knowledge of the principles and practices of project development and evaluation. Skill in the use of standard materials and equipment used in building maintenance including hand tools, and light to heavy power tools. Skill in inspecting heating and air-conditioning systems and performing routine and preventive. maintenance tasks. Skill in Workspace reconfiguration and cubicle setup Skill in routine plumbing repairs, electrical and HVAC repairs, and emergency repairs. Ability to perform inspections, evaluate building maintenance needs, prepare annual maintenance plans, and make recommendations. Ability to perform skilled building maintenance and remodeling work. Ability to renovate, remodel, and repair building interiors and exteriors. Ability to coordinate, monitor and review the work of outside contractors. Required:
High school diploma or equivalent; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. 2-4 years of building maintenance experience. Valid Colorado Driver's License or ability to obtain within six months of hire.Preferred:
Bilingual in English and Spanish. Experience in public/municipal sector.PHYSICAL AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The employee is regularly required to exercise mental visual concentration, listen, talk, stand, reach, twist, and demonstrate manual dexterity. The employee is required to focus attention on tasks without losing concentration or becoming distracted by surrounding activities and interruptions. The employee is also required to kneel, squat, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis. The employee may need to climb ladders, work in Confined Spaces, use power equipment/tools that produce vibration and noise, and work in Work Zones with moderate to heavy traffic. The employee may need to work in all outside weather conditions near moving equipment in areas with elevated noise levels and where chemicals may be utilized.
