Job Description

Hiring Ranges:
Mechanic II:
$32.08- $38.50. The maximum pay for this position is $44.92.
Mechanic III:
$34.65- $41.58. The maximum pay for this position is $48.51. Eagle County Government is seeking a hybrid Mechanic/Maintenance Tech to join our Eagle Regional Airport team. This is a single position with flexibility to hire at a level II, or III, depending on experience and qualifications. This position is responsible for the continuous repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical airport infrastructure, including vehicles, heavy equipment, baggage conveyors, passenger jet bridges, and HVAC systems. Operating within a secure aviation environment, this role ensures all mechanical, electrical, and heavy equipment operations comply strictly with federal FAA and TSA regulations. Wednesday- Saturday 6:00AM-4:30PM (4x10s)
What You'll Do:
Maintain and repair essential airport equipment, including baggage conveyor systems, passenger jet bridges, and facility HVAC. Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems. Operate vehicles and heavy equipment in a secure environment. Ensure all work complies with strict FAA and TSA safety and security regulations. Level III mechanics will lead projects and mentor junior team members.
What We're Looking For:
Valid driver's license and the ability to pass a federal background check. A strong commitment to safety and teamwork. Must be available for on-call and weekend duties. Experienced in maintaining and repairing vehicles, heavy equipment, or building systems (HVAC, plumbing, etc.). Able to work effectively with the entire airport staff. Qualifications for
Fleet Mechanic II:
Minimum Work Experience At least 3 years of experience in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of various building systems or, any combination of education and experience which produces the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Preferred Work Experience Prior experience maintaining baggage conveyor systems. Minimum Licensure Possess a valid State of Colorado Driver's License, or ability to obtain within 60 days, with a satisfactory motor vehicle record without restrictions. Fleet Mechanic III:
Minimum Work Experience Six (6) years on-the job experience as a journey level mechanic performing routine maintenance on gasoline or diesel powered vehicles; or, any combination of education and experience which produces the required knowledge, skills and abilities Preferred Work Experience & Education Any experience in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various building systems. Attend Basic and Advanced Snow Equipment Mechanic training after 2 years of employment Completion of a technical training program with at least 1 ASE certification in Automotive and Medium/Heavy Truck maintenance. Experience with hybrid/alternative fueled vehicles, or construction equipment. One (1) year of experience at Eagle County Airport as a fleet mechanic or a similar fleet experience at another airport Minimum Licensure Possess a valid State of Colorado Driver's License, or ability to obtain within 60 days, with a satisfactory motor vehicle record without restrictions.
