A Building and General Maintenance Technician performs building maintenance and appliance repairs for an apartment complex, housing division, residential center or business, as directed by a property manager.
Execute scheduled maintenance routines, inspections, and system checks across plant machinery and facility infrastructure to maximize equipment reliability and minimize operational downtime.
Multi-Craft Troubleshooting & Repair:
Diagnose, resolve, and repair complex electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues across production machinery.
Electrical Safety & High Voltage:
Safely troubleshoot, repair, and install industrial electrical components up to 480 VAC in full compliance with safety codes.
Schematics & Technical Blueprint Reading:
Interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics, mechanical drawings, and work instructions to guide precision repairs and installation projects.
CMMS & Work Order Management:
Log, track, and document completed work orders, preventative maintenance schedules, and machine performance histories using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Root Cause Analysis & Fabrication:
Support continuous improvement efforts by performing failure diagnostics, implementing long-term corrective solutions, and custom-fabricating replacement components as needed.
Facility Maintenance & Contractor Support:
Oversee core plant utilities (compressed air, HVAC, lighting, plumbing) and partner with external contractors and production units for major installations and overhauls.
Equipment Handling & Safety Operations:
Safely operate material handling gear including forklifts, aerial/scissor lifts, and overhead cranes while enforcing strict Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), 5S, and housekeeping protocols.
