SUMMARY OF POSITION

Under the general supervision of the Building Maintenance Superintendent or designee, performs skilled work in plumbing and the maintenance, repairs and replacement of existing facilities. Employee must possess a plumbing license valid in the State of Connecticut and must be able to work from blueprints, sketches, drawings. Work involves a variety of miscellaneous general mechanical and building trade tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or trade school or completion of apprentice training; AND Two (2) years of professional experience in the plumbing trades. Some experience in general maintenance and mechanical aptitude. Possession of a valid State of Connecticut plumbing license. At time of application, possession of a valid State of Connecticut motor vehicle driver's license.

SCOPE OF EXAMINATION

Applicants who meet the requirements as stated above will be invited to participate in an oral board examination, weighted 100% . Candidates who successfully pass the oral board examination must achieve an overall passing score of at least 70% to be placed on the hiring list.
