Maintenance Operations Technician Nuovo Pasta Productions Stratford, CT Job Details Full-time $40 - $45 an hour 6 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible spending account Employee assistance program Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Industrial mechanic experience Manufacturing facility experience Driver's License Full Job Description Nuovo Pasta Productions is looking for Maintenance Operations Technicians to join our team on the morning (3:30am-12pm) and afternoon (1pm-9:30pm) shift, Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays during our busy season. Overview The operations technician will fix, maintain, and operate mechanical equipment. This individual will perform electrical repairs, maintain, and repair food manufacturing equipment and supporting equipment. In the event of an emergency, they may be called to support necessary tasks in association with that emergency. Responsibilities Perform maintenance service and repairs in one or more skill areas, including minor machine servicing, electrical repairs, or installations. Clean and lubricate equipment and parts. Ability to startup and operate equipment/production lines. Identify and correct unsafe working conditions, with management oversight. Attend training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated. Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures. Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner. Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments. Apply all applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned work. Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including food safety, such as SQF 2000 and HACCP plans, as well as the GMP's and personal practices of Nuovo Pasta. Assist skilled trade workers in one or more areas performing specific or standard duties to learn new skills as required for advancement and certification. Utilize basic cleaning and other chemicals. Coordinate work activities of General Maintenance Apprentices as needed. Assist in training, assigning, and checking the work of lower-level employees as needed. Examine mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble. Disassemble machines and repair or replace broken parts. Inspect completed repairs. Adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary. Order replacement parts and equipment with management approval. Inventory equipment, parts, and supplies. Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, etc. May be required to assist with special projects. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by senior management. Qualifications Proven experience working in a manufacturing facility or industrial maintenance environment. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including electrical troubleshooting, blueprint reading, and electrical maintenance practices. Hands-on experience with equipment troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery. Familiarity with CMMS software for work order management. Ability to operate scissor lifts safely; certification is a plus. Skilled in welding techniques specific to standards; welding certification preferred. Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, schematics interpretation, and engineering troubleshooting methods. Proficiency with precision measuring instruments such as ammeters and ohmmeters; ability to analyze data effectively. Knowledge of HVAC/R systems is advantageous for maintaining climate control equipment within the facility. Strong analytical skills combined with excellent problem-solving abilities in electrical or mechanical diagnostics. Ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics accurately; experience with PLCs is highly desirable. Industrial electrician or industrial mechanic experience is preferred; certifications in these areas are advantageous.
