Job Description

Our client in Waterbury , CT is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join their team. Job Summary A Maintenance Mechanic keeps machinery, equipment, and facility systems operating safely and efficiently. Duties include preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, repairing equipment, performing inspections, maintaining records, and minimizing downtime.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Perform regular and preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and facility. Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly facility Identify potential issues and report to manager to schedule for repair Map out and compile materials list for upcoming projects Perform project repairs and installation of large equipment Ability to safely operate overhead crane Maintain inventory of critical equipment parts Monthly safety inspections throughout the facility Complete other assignments given by manager
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Use a variety of hand and power tools in performing duties. Needs to use hands and feet to be able to put on Personal Protection Equipment including goggles, boots and gloves. Needs to be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Regularly required to be on feet 80-90% of time. This includes walking and crouching. Occasionally uses hand tools requiring good hand-and-eye coordination.
PREFFERED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 5-10
Years of experience in similar manufacturing setting Light to medium electrical and plumbing experience required Strong mechanical and math aptitudes Forklift Certification preferred but not required Able to read Blueprints Able to use measuring equipment, i.e. calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, preferred but not required Organizational and housekeeping skills Walk-Ins Welcome!
