Location US-CT-West Hartford # Positions 1 Experience (Years) 2 Category Manufacturing Position Description At a Glance Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Wiremold Team in West Hartford, CT. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of production equipment, facility systems, and building structures. This role ensures optimal equipment performance and supports safe, efficient operations across the facility. What Will You Do? Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment and facility systems.
Maintain and repair factory buildings, loading docks, offices, and outbuildings.
Repair and construct wood-based fixtures, equipment, and structures.
Build new equipment and tools, including preparing material lists and cost estimates.
Set up and operate machines and tools, including metal preparation processes such as hardening or tempering tool steels.
Perform basic welding tasks.
Complete Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) activities as assigned.
Maintain tools, materials, and workspaces in a clean and organized condition aligned with 5S/continuous improvement standards.
Record equipment performance data to support analysis and decision-making.
Follow all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures.
Perform all work to high-quality workmanship standards.
Identify and report equipment issues or potential risks.
Train team members on equipment operation and repair as needed.
Qualifications Required Skills Minimum Qualifications:
Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment. Ability to maintain required licenses or certifications for assigned work. Strong understanding of OSHA and workplace safety standards.Required Skills & Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Ability to follow written procedures and checklists. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Physical Requirements:
Frequently standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently. Repetitive use of hands, wrists, and fingers. Ability to work in industrial environments with noise, temperature changes, dust, fumes, and machinery hazards.
