Overview Key West Historic Inns is seeking an experienced, dependable, and skilled Engineer II to join our Engineering team. If you're a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting, solving problems, and taking pride in quality workmanship, we'd love to hear from you. As an Engineer II, you will perform a variety of skilled maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance tasks throughout our boutique hotel collection. You will troubleshoot and repair building systems and equipment, respond to guest maintenance requests, and help ensure our hotels remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to independently identify and resolve maintenance issues while providing professional service to our guests and team members. Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical or trade school training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of hotel, institutional, commercial building, facilities maintenance, or HVAC systems experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, emergency, and preventive maintenance systems and related disciplines.
- Refrigeration, HVAC, EPA certification, journeyman-level experience, or other applicable trade certifications preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete repairs independently.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and identifying equipment or facility issues before failure occurs.
- Working knowledge of carpentry, painting, drywall, locks, doors, and general building maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organization, and time management skills.
- Basic computer and administrative skills with the ability to accurately complete and update electronic work orders.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with guests, team members, vendors, and leadership.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative Engineering team.
- Knowledge of safe work practices and applicable OSHA requirements.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Must meet the minimum age requirement of the jurisdiction.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins based on business needs.
