Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to support the daily operations at Hyatt Place Sarasota / Lakewood Ranch! This position plays a key role in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well‑maintained environment for guests and staff. Position Summary The Maintenance Technician will handle routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting across guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces. This is a hands‑on position suited for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys a dynamic, service‑oriented environment. Key Responsibilities Address maintenance work orders submitted by guests, employees, and supervisors. Perform maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on equipment and property, and report any issues to the General Manager. Paint walls, ceilings, fixtures, buildings, and equipment to prevent corrosion. Install wall fixtures, replace light bulbs and filters, and shampoo carpets. Make local deliveries and pick-ups as needed. Conduct property walks—both interior and exterior—every morning and evening. Maintain the parking lot, pool, and grounds area in accordance with established quality standards. Execute preventative maintenance tasks following the preventative maintenance log schedule. Collaborate with the General Manager and Regional Maintenance Manager to initiate and complete special and ongoing projects while maintaining a preventative maintenance program. Conduct daily inspections of the hotel to identify maintenance needs. Keep all sidewalks clean and free of debris, snow, and ice. Adhere to key control policies, practices, and procedures. Stay updated on all information related to any equipment or machinery on the property. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards to guarantee a safe work environment. Proficiencies Strong communication skills Proficiency with computer software and property management systems Excellent time management, problem‑solving, and customer service abilities Dependable, flexible, and able to adapt to changing needs Qualifications 1-2 years of maintenance experience preferred Hotel experience is a plus, but not required Ability to speak, read, and write in English Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, kneel, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
