As the Tooling Maintenance Technician , you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing aircraft tooling and equipment within an asset management system framework. You'll work closely with manufacturer guidelines and asset management systems (MXI) to ensure all tooling is safe, compliant and operational. Key responsibilities include coordinating tooling repairs to minimise operational impact, identifying maintenance trends, and contributing to safety initiatives under the Qantas S.A.F.E system. This role requires attention to detail, strong mechanical hand skills, organisational skills and a proactive approach to maintaining high standards in a dynamic environment. You'll have
  • A mechanical trade certificate or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia Hands-on experience in aircraft tooling or plant and equipment maintenance or similar Ability to interpret manufacturer maintenance manuals Basic fabrication skills and knowledge
  • Preferred Experience with basic lifting equipment (e.g. nylon slings)
  • Preferred Proficiency in pneumatic & hydraulic system servicing Understanding of tooling and equipment maintenance procedures Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities Strong organisational skills, sound computer literacy, and a customer-focused mindset Flexibility and willingness to take on additional duties as needed Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety
