The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring that our campus grounds, buildings, and equipment are safe, clean, well-maintained, and functional for students, faculty, parishioners, and visitors. Key Responsibilities General Maintenance & Repairs Perform routine repair work, including minor plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and door hardware repairs. Conduct regular maintenance checks on HVAC units, lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, and building safety systems (e.g., fire extinguishers, emergency lights). Promptly address work order requests submitted by faculty and staff. Must be able to follow directions Campus Safety & Operations Maintain a secure and hazard-free campus environment, ensuring walkways, play structures, and common areas are safe for children and adults. Respond to urgent maintenance needs or emergency calls as required. Ensure all tools, equipment, and work areas are stored safely and kept in clean working order. Event Setup & Support Assist with the setup and teardown of tables, chairs, staging, and equipment for school assemblies, church services, athletics, and special events. Coordinate with supervisor to ensure facility readiness prior to school events and weekend services. Grounds & Exterior Care Assist with outdoor campus care, including trash pickup, minor groundskeeping, pressure washing, and keeping entryways clear and presentable. Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in general facility maintenance, construction, or a related trade (school or church campus experience preferred).
Skills:
Solid working knowledge of general plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and painting techniques. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Problem Solving:
Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to identifying and fixing maintenance issues.
Interpersonal Skills:
Friendly, professional demeanor suitable for a school and church environment; able to communicate respectfully with students, parents, staff, and parishioners.
