Job Description
Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Hotel Maintenance Engineer to ensure the seamless operation and upkeep of our hotel's facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of building systems and equipment to provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests and staff. Your expertise will help uphold the highest standards of property maintenance, ensuring all facilities operate efficiently and reliably. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), carpentry, painting, and mechanical systems. Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment using schematics, ohmmeters, hand tools, and electrical testing devices. Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, drains, and water supply lines. Conduct HVAC system repairs and maintenance to ensure optimal climate control throughout the property. Use welding techniques and mechanical knowledge to address complex repairs on building infrastructure. Supervise maintenance projects and lead small teams or contractors when necessary, demonstrating leadership and organizational skills. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and system schematics for future reference. Ensure all facilities equipment complies with safety standards and operational guidelines while delivering excellent customer service to internal teams. Perform painting tasks related to interior building maintenance or residential painting projects to uphold aesthetic standards. Utilize tools such as schematics, hand tools, electrical equipment repair kits, and ohmmeters to diagnose issues accurately. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance or building operations with a strong background in electrical work, plumbing, HVAC systems, carpentry, welding, and mechanical repairs. Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical schematics for troubleshooting complex systems. Hands-on experience with electrical equipment repair, plumbing system maintenance, HVAC system repair, and facilities equipment upkeep. Ability to read technical diagrams (schematics) and work with tools such as hand tools, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing devices. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with practical experience in residential or commercial painting is preferred. Supervising or leadership experience is advantageous for coordinating maintenance tasks efficiently. Excellent communication skills in English to effectively document work orders and collaborate with team members. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy objects, working at heights or confined spaces as needed for building interior maintenance tasks. A proactive attitude with a focus on customer service to ensure guest satisfaction through timely repairs and quality workmanship.
