Job Description
A private family office is hiring a dependable handyman to keep a Siesta Key residence in good working order. The work is varied and steady: small repairs, installations, seasonal upkeep, and light landscaping. You will work directly with the family office manager rather than through a crew or a general contractor, and you will be trusted with access to the home. Discretion matters here as much as skill.
SCOPE OF WORK
- General repairs: doors, locks and hardware, weather stripping, drywall patching, caulking, and touch-up paint.
- Fixtures and finishes: ceiling fans, light fixtures, faucets, shelving, and minor plumbing within your comfort level.
- Exterior upkeep: pressure washing, screen and slider maintenance, railing and trim tightening, and storm preparation.
- Landscaping support: trimming, weeding, bed cleanup, mulch, debris removal, irrigation checks, and coordination with the lawn service.
- Property checks: walking the property after storms or extended vacancies and reporting anything that needs a licensed trade.
- Vendor access: meeting licensed contractors on site when the family office needs someone present.
WHO FITS THIS ROLE
- Five or more years of hands-on property maintenance, handyman, or skilled trades experience.
- Works independently, sets your own sequence, and finishes what you start without follow-up.
- Reliable vehicle, your own tools, and the ability to reach Siesta Key on short notice.
- Responsive by phone or text, and clear about scheduling when you are booked elsewhere.
- Knows the limits of unlicensed work and says so when a job calls for a licensed plumber, electrician, or roofer.
- Clean background check and two references from prior residential clients.
