Our mission is to help each client Sail Through Detox with safe, medically supervised protocols combined with holistic therapies and compassionate care in a comfortable and tranquil setting. We are seeking a reliable, skilled Handyman to join our team 20-29 hours per week . This position focuses on general facility upkeep—not major renovations—helping ensure our environment remains safe, clean, and well-maintained for staff and clients. The ideal candidate is dependable, takes initiative, and works well independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform general handyman tasks including: Pressure washing Interior/exterior painting Caulking Changing lightbulbs Minor drywall patches/repairs Basic carpentry and touch-ups Minor plumbing fixes (unclogging drains, replacing fixtures, tightening fittings) Basic electrical tasks (replacing outlets, switches, covers, etc.) Assist with general maintenance needs across the facility as requested by management. Complete routine inspections of buildings, walkways, and grounds to identify maintenance needs. Assemble furniture, move equipment, hang wall items, and assist with office/room setups. Report any issues requiring licensed professionals or major repair work. Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in good condition. Communicate clearly with the Facilities Manager and leadership regarding project status and needs. Uphold all Coastal Detox policies and maintain a professional, respectful demeanor. Provide a safe environment for clients and protect confidentiality as required.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE 3-5
years of handyman, maintenance, or similar experience. Ability to safely use power tools and hand tools. Experience with light carpentry, painting, patchwork, pressure washing, and basic repairs. CPR/First Aid certification preferred (not required). Experience in healthcare or residential facility maintenance a plus. Must reside locally (Stuart/Palm City area preferred).
REQUIRED
Must be able to work 29 hours per week . Must be available Monday- Thursday (occasional weekend tasks if needed). Valid Florida Driver's License and clean driving record. Must pass a drug screen and background check. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs, work outdoors, and perform physical tasks safely. Must be reliable, organized, and self-directed.
