What we need:
NPC is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Serger/Binder Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing serger, binder, and other industrial sewing equipment. Under general supervision, this role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting production and quality goals through preventive and corrective maintenance activities. What you'll do: Prioritize safety at all times and promote safe work practices throughout the facility Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on serger, binder, overlock, and other sewing machines Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational issues to identify root causes and complete timely repairs Inspect, adjust, calibrate, and test machinery to ensure optimal performance and product quality Replace and repair machine components including needles, loopers, binders, tension assemblies, bearings, belts, gears, motors, and drive systems Respond quickly to machine breakdowns and production support requests to minimize downtime Maintain sewing equipment according to established preventive maintenance schedules Clean, lubricate, and service machine components and moving parts to extend equipment life Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements Assist with machine setup, changeovers, modifications, and installations as needed Collaborate with production supervisors, operators, and quality personnel to resolve machine-related issues Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, equipment downtime, and parts usage Inspect and evaluate worn or damaged components to determine repair or replacement requirements Ensure proper inventory levels of maintenance parts, supplies, and tooling Utilize hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, efficiency, and quality Follow all company policies, procedures, safety standards, and lockout/tagout requirements What you'll have: High school diploma or GED preferred Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Experience working with industrial sewing equipment, including serger and binder machines, strongly preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Basic knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Demonstrated accountability and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing production priorities Strong multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Willingness to learn new skills and continuously improve technical knowledge Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening What you're good at: Diagnosing and resolving equipment malfunctions efficiently and effectively Reading and interpreting equipment manuals, technical documents, and maintenance procedures Safely using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments Performing equipment adjustments and fine-tuning to meet quality specifications Following written and verbal instructions accurately Communicating clearly and professionally with operators, supervisors, and team members Building and maintaining positive working relationships with coworkers and vendors Prioritizing tasks and managing multiple maintenance projects simultaneously Demonstrating flexibility, including working overtime, weekends, or on call as needed to support production demands Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvementAPPLY TODAY!
