We do it the other way around. This is a hands-on general maintenance role at our apartment unit community in Decatur. You'll handle the leaking water heater at nine, the make-ready turn by Friday, and the resident who just wants their dishwasher to work. That's not a vague promise. We're hiring a Maintenance Technician in Decatur right now This role tops out where that one begins. We'd rather grow someone into that seat than keep posting for it. What we pay and provide $22.00 - $25.00/hour , based on experience Medical insurance 14 days paid time off + paid holidays Schedule Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. Rotating on-call week for after-hours emergencies, shared across the team. What you'll do Resident service and repairs Complete service requests promptly and professionally, documenting all work
Plumbing:
faucets, toilets, disposals, water heaters, minor drain clearingElectrical:
outlets, switches, fixtures, breakers, within scope and code Appliance troubleshooting, repair, and replacement Drywall patching, paint, carpentry, tile, and door and lock repairs Unit turns Prepare vacant units for move-in on schedule Punch-list and final quality check before a unit goes back on the market Property and team Keep grounds, breezeways, and common areas safe and presentable Assist the HVAC tech with filter changes, coil cleaning, and preventive maintenance—direct exposure if you're working toward your 608 Support pool, irrigation, and life-safety equipment upkeep as assigned Maintain shop organization, tools, and inventory Follow all safety protocols and company policies What you need 2+ years of hands-on maintenance experience across plumbing, electrical, and appliances Comfort working independently and prioritizing your own day Ability to read service manuals and work orders Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Availability for the on-call rotation Professional, courteous presence with residents Nice to have EPA Section 608 certification HVAC troubleshooting experience Prior multifamily or residential property maintenance experience CPO or CAMT certification Property management software experience (Yardi, Entrata, RealPage, or similar) Bilingual English/Spanish Where this goes Several of our Lead Techs and Maintenance Supervisors started in a seat like this one.
