This position is responsible for maintaining the hotel's facilities, guest rooms, public areas, and equipment to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our guests and team members. The ideal candidate will have experience in general maintenance, preventative maintenance programs, troubleshooting, and painting. This role plays a critical part in protecting the hotel's assets while delivering an exceptional guest experience. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Guest Room Maintenance Perform repairs and maintenance in guest rooms, including: Plumbing fixtures Lighting and electrical outlets HVAC units Door locks and hardware Furniture and case goods Televisions and appliances Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and work orders. Ensure rooms meet brand standards and are guest-ready. Preventative Maintenance Execute the hotel's Preventative Maintenance (PM) Program according to established schedules. Complete routine inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas. Identify potential issues before they become costly repairs. Maintain accurate preventative maintenance logs and documentation. Inspect and service HVAC systems, water heaters, ice machines, kitchen equipment, and other hotel assets. Assist with room refreshes and renovation projects. Building & Grounds Maintenance Maintain the appearance and functionality of the hotel's interior and exterior. Perform painting, drywall repair, and caulking. Conduct routine inspections of parking lots, sidewalks, and building exteriors. Ensure all public spaces remain clean, safe, and operational. Equipment & Systems Maintenance Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical equipment. Safety & Compliance Follow all Holiday Inn, company, OSHA, and local safety regulations. Maintain compliance with fire, life safety, and emergency procedures. Properly handle and store tools, chemicals, and maintenance supplies. Report unsafe conditions immediately and take corrective action when appropriate. Teamwork & Support Work closely with Housekeeping and Front Desk teams to prioritize room availability. Communicate effectively regarding out-of-order rooms and maintenance projects. Assist with snow, storm, or emergency response procedures when needed. Support hotel leadership with special projects and operational needs. Required Skills Knowledge of general building maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose maintenance issues efficiently. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, work orders, and safety procedures. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment. Basic computer skills for work orders and maintenance tracking systems. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Minimum Qualifications & ExperienceRequired High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1-2 years of maintenance experience in hospitality, commercial buildings, apartments, or a related field. Experience with preventative maintenance programs. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks. Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins. Preferred 2-5 years of hotel maintenance experience.
