Job Description
Residential Window & Door Installer - Subcontractor M&J Rackley Construction LLC is seeking an experienced and dependable Residential Window & Door Installation Subcontractor to complete installation projects at residential properties. We are looking for a skilled installer who takes pride in quality workmanship, understands proper installation and weatherproofing practices, and can complete jobs professionally and efficiently while working in customers' homes. Responsibilities Install replacement and new-construction windows in residential homes Install exterior entry doors, patio doors, sliding glass doors, French doors, and storm doors Remove existing windows and doors while minimizing damage to surrounding materials Properly measure, level, square, shim, fasten, insulate, seal, and weatherproof installations Install and/or replace interior and exterior trim as required Perform minor framing or opening modifications when necessary Apply caulk, sealants, flashing, and other water-management materials correctly Diagnose and correct common installation and fitment issues Ensure windows and doors operate, lock, and seal properly before completing the job Protect customers' flooring, furniture, landscaping, and other property during installation Maintain a clean and safe work area and remove installation debris Communicate professionally with homeowners and our company Complete assigned projects according to job specifications and quality standards Required Skills & Experience Previous professional window and door installation experience required Strong knowledge of residential construction and remodeling Experience installing a variety of window and exterior door styles Ability to accurately read a tape measure and verify rough openings Knowledge of proper flashing, caulking, insulation, sealing, and water-management techniques Ability to identify out-of-square or problematic openings and determine appropriate installation solutions Carpentry and trim experience Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools Ability to work independently and complete installations without constant supervision Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Good problem-solving skills Professional appearance and communication with homeowners Dependable transportation and ability to travel to assigned residential job sites Must have the tools and equipment necessary to perform window and door installations Ability to safely lift and maneuver windows, doors, and construction materials Subcontractor Requirements This is a subcontractor/independent contractor opportunity , not a general labor position.
