Job Description
Summary This position is designated as safety-sensitive. As such, a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening are mandatory. The incumbent will also be subject to random drug and alcohol testing throughout the duration of employment. Under the direction of the Lift Station Maintenance Supervisor and working with the Lift Station staff, the Lift Station Maintenance Tech performs preventative and corrective maintenance on all lift stations, water pump station and associated emergency generator equipment to minimize downtime and extend the life of the equipment. Job Duties Implementing and sustaining a reliability centered maintenance program for all lift station and pump station equipment in Water Resources to minimize equipment downtime. Coordinates and performs preventative maintenance on all lift station, water pumping station equipment to ensure optimal operational life with minimal expense. Coordinates preventative maintenance work associated with lift stations with Lift Station Station Supervisor and Lift Station Superintendent. Preventative maintenance includes but is not limited to oil and filter changes, greasing, testing, inspecting and documentation of work completed. Assist's with refurbishing pumps, gearboxes, and other equipment as needed. Assists with inventories for all parts and equipment to assure adequate supplies are available for use when needed. Maintain provided tools, equipment, and inventory effectively and efficiently. Completes and records work order information for tracking and documentation in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with safety procedures, rules, and regulations. Participate in required safety meetings and keeps safety certifications and training up to date. Make safety a priority in all job tasks. Must work independently and have the ability to safely operate and maintain a City assigned service truck. Responds to maintenance related issues after hour emergencies as needed. Performs other related duties as required.
