Join Georgia-Pacific's Madison team and help keep one of the area's largest manufacturing operations running safely and efficiently. Our Team Georgia-Pacific's Madison facility manufactures pine plywood panels and siding used in residential and light commercial construction. - Demonstrate strong commitment to safety by following all environmental, PPE, and safety standards to support an injury-free workplace
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment to improve reliability, efficiency, and uptime
- Collaborate with team members to solve problems and support production goals
- Maintain high housekeeping standards to ensure a safe and organized work environment
- Communicate work performed and equipment status clearly, both verbally and in writing
- Support quality outcomes by minimizing waste and contributing to production and performance goals
- Follow and interpret work instructions and maintenance schedules to complete planned work effectively
- Work in industrial conditions (hot, cold, humid, noisy environments) while maintaining focus on safety and quality
- Take ownership of work, operate with minimal supervision, and support training and development of teammates
- Perform physically demanding tasks (lifting, climbing, walking, pushing, twisting, stooping) with or without reasonable accommodation Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience troubleshooting conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and pumps
- Experience installing, aligning, repairing, and replacing industrial equipment
- Experience with fabrication, welding, and cutting torch
- Experience operating hoisting and lifting devices
- Experience troubleshooting bearings, chains, sprockets, and gearboxes
- Experience with precision alignment of motors and couplings
- Experience reading blueprints, technical drawings, or hydraulic schematics What Will Put You Ahead
- 2 or more years of Mechanical or technical training (e.g., vocational, military, or hands-on experience)
