Job Description

Job Summary We are looking for a motivated Garage Door Technician to join Besser Garage Door, a Wheelhouse company. In this role, you will be responsible for the service, repair, and maintenance of residential and commercial garage doors, openers, and related systems. Technicians travel to various service calls throughout the day, with each day bringing different opportunities, as our company provides both service work and new installations. This position requires high-quality workmanship, attention to safety and compliance, and excellent customer service while always representing the company in a professional manner. Technicians interact with customers daily throughout our service areas and have flexible schedules with the ability to dispatch from home using company vehicles. To be successful in this role, you will need to be organized, efficient, and possess strong practical problem-solving skills. Because you will serve as a direct representative of the company, patient, respectful, and professional communication with customers is essential. Responsibilities Installation & Service Install, repair, and maintain garage doors, openers, springs, tracks, and related parts Diagnose issues and complete repairs safely and efficiently Perform maintenance and safety inspections Test garage door systems to ensure proper operation Customer Service & Communication Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers and team members Provide excellent customer service while representing the company in a professional manner Ability to identify customer needs and recommend products or services when appropriate Sales experience is a plus, or willingness to learn basic selling techniques Safety & Compliance Follow company safety policies and OSHA guidelines Properly use PPE, tools, and equipment Maintain a clean and safe work area Report any accidents or safety concerns immediately Documentation & Equipment Complete work orders and service documentation accurately Record labor, parts used, and job details in company systems/tablets Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment Assist with inventory and restocking as needed Requirements Physical & Work Requirement Ability to perform physical work including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials and equipment. Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work overhead for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation in accordance with applicable law. Preferred Qualifications Experience with residential and/or commercial garage door systems and openers Electrical troubleshooting experience OSHA safety training
Pay:
$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
