Responsibilities Measure, assemble, and install garage doors, tracks, springs, cables, openers, and hardware using hand tools and power tools. Read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute installation plans. Perform metal stud framing, trim carpentry, fixture installation, cabinet installation, and door hanging to ensure precise fit and finish. Conduct welding and fabrication tasks as needed to customize or repair components. Use locksmithing skills to adjust locks or security features on garage doors. Handle heavy lifting safely while installing large doors or hardware on construction sites or residential properties. Apply caulking and sealants for weatherproofing and aesthetic finishing touches. Troubleshoot mechanical issues with garage door systems using mechanical knowledge and electrical experience when necessary. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, materials, and debris throughout the project lifecycle. Experience Proven experience in construction-related roles such as remodeling, carpentry, metal stud framing, or handyman work. Skilled in glass installation, fixture setup, electrical work, schematics reading, and schematic interpretation. Hands-on experience with welding, fabrication, blueprint reading, and mechanical systems is highly desirable. Familiarity with power tools including drills, saws, grinders, and specialized garage door equipment. Knowledge of locksmithing techniques related to lock adjustments or security enhancements on garage doors. Prior work on construction sites or residential projects demonstrating safety awareness and teamwork skills. Strong physical ability for heavy lifting and working at heights or in confined spaces.
